About Kate

Hi there, I’m Kate. I learned the basic knit and purl stitches years ago in my local 4-H club. I made a couple squares back then, nothing too notable. But not so long ago, I wandered into The Last Sheepicorn as I was on a walk in downtown Sheboygan. As I peaked around the shop, Eileen kindly asked if I knit, to which I said no. She cheerfully replied, “We can change that!” And wow was she right! Knitting has become my hobby of choice, in the evenings, on car rides, in waiting rooms, at the park, at a friend’s house, during book discussions, stitching away is just such a beautiful way to spend time.

Though I still consider myself just a confident beginner (and probably will for a long time), I’m passionate about sharing what I know and helping others come to love the fiber arts too! I’m constantly inspired by our regulars at the shop, many of whom have been knitting for years and many of whom are confident beginners like me. Whether you saw a sweater in a movie that you have a pipe dream of replicating (looking at you, Ryan Gosling’s fox sweater from Project Hail Mary) or just want to stitch a few little hats, I’m excited to see your projects from cast on to bind off! When I’m not knitting, I love to spend time with my husband and daughter- we love to read, pray, hike, bike, kayak, and get ice cream together.
